This type of aviation fuel can be colorless or straw-colored and is intended for aircraft equipped with gas turbine engines. The most commonly used brands in commercial (civil) aviation are Jet A and Jet A–1 manufactured in compliance with
established international specifications. Jet B, only one more type of aviation fuel used in gas turbine engines of civil aviation aircraft, is valued for its improved performance at low temperatures

The production of the TS-1 fuel according to GOST 10227-86 uses the technology of direct separation of middle distillate oil fractions. The finished fuel is a mixture of hydrocarbons with a boiling point of 150℃ to 250°C. Kerosene of the highest quality has a transparent yellowish consistency with a smell of benzene hydrocarbons.

This fuel is a product of the highest quality category, during its production the content of sulfur and mercaptans can be reduced to minimum values: 0.1% and 0.001%, respectively. Such indicators can be achieved by hydrotreating straight-run kerosene fractions with boiling limits from 135℃ to 280℃.

However, the antiwear characteristics and chemical stability of the composition deteriorate. To solve this problem, antioxidant and antiwear additives are put into the fuel.
